This captivating Captain Cook, inspired by the original 1962 edition, gives pride of place to the black-to-burgundy gradient dial shimmering beneath a box-shaped sapphire crystal. The striking look is enhanced by rhodium-coloured applied indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova, and by the polished black bezel insert in Rado’s signature high-tech ceramic. The watch is powered by Rado calibre R763, a 25-jewel, three-hand automatic movement with an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring for enhanced reliability and accuracy. Water-resistant to 30 bar (300m), the 39mm diameter case in stainless steel complements the existing 37mm and 42 mm case sizes, extending the appeal of the Captain Cook range to accommodate wrists of all sizes. The watch is worn with a vintage-style rice grain stainless steel bracelet for classic occasions, easily exchanged for two additional straps: a burgundy NATO-style textile strap with black border, and a black leather strap.
